Fun To Be One ~ Gymboree

It's the fourth day of our Fun To Be One event, celebrating the 1st birthdays of the Wubba (Viva Veltoro), Graham (Housewife on a Mission) and my (Thrifty Nifty Mommy) little guy, Jacob.

Today I'm excited to bring you a review and giveaway for Gymboree.

I love shopping for clothes for my kids. With both pregnancies, after finding out the sex of my unborn child, one of the first things I'd do was hit the mall to find them a few cute little outfits. I think it's ingrained in women. I mean, we spend our days as little girls dressing our dolls and barbies, right? I know I surely did!

One of my favorite brands for kids clothes is Gymboree. I love the fact that you can get so many pieces to make coordinated outfits. When you've got a little girl, you can get everything for an outfit right down to matching socks and hair bows. For the boys, they've got coordinating shoes, hats, socks—it's awesome and makes for great pictures (when your child will sit still for them!). You can also shop by collection which enables you to interchange pieces to change up the outfits easily.

If you had a baby shower, most likely you were given LOTS of clothes in the 0-6 month range, but by the time the first birthday rolls around, you're probably in need of some new clothes for the kids, just like we were.

Gymboree was generous enough to send me a $100 gift card for Jacob's first birthday and I was able to pick him out a number of new, adorable items for his wardrobe. With my $100 I got a total of 10 items:
  • 2 pairs of shoes
  • 1 hoodie
  • 3 pairs of shorts
  • 1 pair of swimming trunks
  • 1 onesie t-shirt
  • 2 polo shirts

As you can see, I ordered from 2 different lines so that some of my items will be interchangeable. My son just turned 1 year old and the items ordered are all the 12-18 months size (size 4 for shoes). The plaid shorts do not have an adjustable waist are slightly big on my son, but he also has a very small waist. My daughter Maggie who is 3 also has a very tiny waist--in fact, her waist is the same size as Jacob's. They are not so big however that he can't wear them, and I'm sure given another month or so they will fit him perfectly.

Jacob has gotten compliments from little old ladies (and younger ladies too!) each time he's worn one of these outfits from Gymboree. They especially seem to love the polo shirts. I am typing this review before we leave on our vacation to Disney (however you won't be reading this until I return—I'm trying to work ahead) but I will be packing every single piece! He hasn't had a chance to wear his swimming trunks yet (not warm enough here) but he'll break them in in Orlando! I love these clothes and I'm so pleased with them. I have never gotten a Gymborre outfit I didn't love for either of my kids!

*Update--we tried the swimming trunks out in Orlando and they were perfect!*

Visit Gymborre online to shop all of their adorable clothes for kids or visit your local retail store. We have a Gymboree outlet close and I'm always finding great deals there!
